August 9, 1927 – March 21,2017 Edna was born in Deep Cove, North Vancouver, one of seven children of the pioneer Moore family. Edna lived a full life with her loving husband and daughter Roberta. She and Bob lived in Abbotsford, Pemberton, Prince Rupert and built a retirement home In beautiful Gunboat Bay, Pender Harbour. Edna had a zest for life which was reflected in her enthusiasm for her garden, fishing and preparing wonderful meals. Edna won a prize for her baking at the Madeira Park Fall Fair. The sky would turn blue when a neighbour’s peacock would feast on the first shoots in the garden. Most of the garden produce plus fruit from the Okanagan was canned and distributed to family and friends. Summers included visits to her brothers, taking the grandchildren to the PNE and the Okanagan, fishing, camping and hunting in the fall. The Boler covered a lot of BC and Alberta. Edna wrote great letters. Correspondence on happenings in Pemberton from Edna to her sister Florence were always very exciting, full of the humour and tragedy of a small town. In later years Edna loved going to the seniors meetings in Madeira Park, a weekly ritual. We will miss Edna greatly. Edna was predeceased by her loving husband Bob and daughter Roberta, sister Florence and brothers Walter, Ike and John. Edna is survived by her loving family, brothers Jim (Doreen) and Tom (Sharon), grandchildren Frank (Danielle), Amber and Justin, great-grandchildren Real, Garrett, Christopher, Lauren, Meagan, Robert and Emmit and many nephews, nieces and their children. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday April 22 at 2pm at St. Hilda’s Anglican Church, 5838 Barnacle Street, Sechelt, BC.
